  Composite materials containing ceramic fibers have drawn attention in the last few decades. These ceramic fibers are thermally tolerable and corrosion-resistant, hence an ideal material for use in high-temperature applications. It is possible to produce these fibers in various forms, such as blankets, felts, bulk fibers, vacuum-formed or cast shapes, paper, and textiles, depending on the application. In general, ceramic fiber textiles contain alumina-silica ceramic fiber, comprising 47 percent alumina and 53 percent silica.
